Technical Assistance I

Indonesia's Geographical Indication Show (IGIS) will be launched under the aegis of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Directorate General of National Export Development (DGNED) of the Ministry of Trade, with the support of the EU-funded ARISE+ Indonesia, during a webinar on Friday, 13 May 2022.

The objective of IGIS is to raise public awareness and promote Indonesian Geographical Indications through a series of culinary journeys to selected GI sites. During the various episodes of the show, a well-known Indonesian brand activist, Arto Biantoro, will explore the unique features that characterise each GI by engaging with the producer communities, conducting culinary shows, and holding side talk shows with other influencers. IGIS will be disseminated to the public through its dedicated website https://igis.id and social media channels. It will be used as background promotion material in future events. The ten pre-selected GI products are Adan Krayan Rice, Bali Amed Salt, East Luwu Pepper, Gayo Arabica Coffee, Koerintji Cinnamon, Kulonprogo Jogja Coconut Sugar, Java Preanger Tea, Muntok White Pepper, Minahasa Clove and Siaw Nutmeg.

The Director of Trademark and GI of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Director of Export Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Trade, and the Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia will speak at the webinar.
