Terra Madre
ARISE+ Indonesia supports the participation of nine Indonesian Geographical Indications (GI) producer associations at Terra Madre in Turin, Italy.
The Terra Madre event takes place every two years and offers the opportunity to producers to show and present their products to other producers, buyers and consumers from all over the world. Due to the pandemic, this year the event will have exclusively a digital format and run from 8 October 2020 to April 2021: https://terramadresalonedelgusto.com/en/

Adan Krayan Rice originates from the Indica subspecies of Oryza sativa, grown and produced by rice farmers in the Krayan Highlands in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The Siaw Nutmeg originates from the Sitaro Islands Regency located in North Sulawesi Province. The Siaw Nutmeg plant variety cultivated in this region is the Myristica Fragrans Houtt species, known for its pleasant aroma and taste.
Alor Islands Vanilla is cultivated in the Alor Regency of East Nusa Tenggara in Indonesia. It comes from the variety of Vanilla Planifolia Andrews, introduced to Indonesia over two centuries ago. Over the years Alor Islands Vanilla has become an important source of income for the smallholder farmers and a key driver of the local economy.
East Luwu Pepper (or Lada Luwu Timur) is grown only in Kabupaten East Luwu, one of the regencies in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. East Luwu Pepper is grown in two varieties, white and black.
The region associated to the production of the Gayo Arabica Coffee is located in the Gayo Highlands on the northern most part of the Bukit Barisan mountain range.
Bali Amed Salt has been produced and consumed by the local community in Amed for hundreds of years. Known for its high quality and refined natural taste, Bali Amed Salt had been appointed as the salt producer to the Kings of the Karangasem Kingdom since 1578 BC. Today, the local and traditional handmade techniques of salt extraction are appreciated, protected and recognised as Geographical Indications both in Indonesian and in Europe.
Koerintji Cinnamon comes from the variety of Cinnamomum Burmannii grown and cultivated by the local Kerinci community, in the southern part of Sumatra. Koerintji Cinnamon earned its long-known reputation due to its especially high concentration of cinnamaldehyde organic compound, which gives stronger flavour and odour than average cinnamon.
The Kulonprogo Jogja Coconut Sugar is produced from nira, translucent sap extracted from the nectar of young coconut flowers. The nira is collected twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, and obtained from coconut trees grown only in the defined geographical area of Kabupaten Kulonprogo, in Central Java.
Sumbawa Honey is produced from forest wild bees (Apis dorsata) in the Sumbawa island, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
