Technical Assistance II

European Union (EU) is one of the most regulated markets in the world. Food safety is highly prioritised, and the requirements for exporting food products to the EU are strict. A workshop is organised to enhance the capacity of the Fish Quarantine and Quality Control Centres (BKIPM) on the updated EU regulations and requirements for fishery products.

The ARISE+ Indonesia Quality Assurance and Export Infrastructurecomponent has selected two experts, specialists in advanced testing methods for antibiotics, dyes, and heavy metals in fisheries products. The experts will deliver the lectures and facilitate discussions during the four-day online workshop. The topics discussed include the EU legislation for reference points of action and residues testing, methodology, analytical chemistry, metrology, uncertainty measurement and budget, spectrometry equipment, calibration, quality control, and the implementation of the European Commission (EC) performance requirements. The participants would thus acquire the theoretical knowledge to enhance the performance of testing methods in Indonesia to the level required by the EU. This workshop will be followed by on-site practical training later this year.
