Technical Assistance II
The Directorate of Trade Defense (DPP) in the Ministry of Trade, in collaboration with ARISE+ Indonesia, is organizing a workshop with the aim of developing an Excel-based program to automate the determination of the dumping margin to the greatest extent possible. This tool will be used by officials from the DPP and KADI when formulating defence positions in anti-dumping investigations initiated against products exported from Indonesia.
The activity consists of two three-day training workshops. The first workshop will be delivered to DPP, and the second workshop will be delivered to the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI).
The training will cover basic accountancy as an introduction to understanding how the normal value and export prices are determined in anti-dumping investigations. It will also explain how these values are compared and demonstrate the use of the margin of dumping tool to assess whether foreign trade remedy authorities have correctly calculated the dumping margin on products exported from Indonesia to other countries. This will be illustrated through two case studies. Additionally, the training will include the use of the margin of dumping tool to calculate the dumping margin for products exported to Indonesia, with two case studies provided for further comprehension.
