Exporting products could be a daunting exercise for uninformed SMEs. Standards have to be met, certification have to be obtained, and products have to be delivered in accordance with agreed time schedules. Exporting to the Europe is no exception. The Ministry of National Planning Agency (Bappenas) is designing a new approach to promote SME development in Indonesia by integrating support delivered by various ministries and agencies. Close interactions with foreign buyers are an integral element of the new approach to better understand opportunities and challenges for export-oriented SMEs.
With a support from ARISE+ Indonesia, Bappenas will host an online event during which representatives of the Government of Indonesia, SME associations, entrepreneurs, and others will have a chance to discuss their experiences, challenges, and opportunities with furniture buyers from the United Kingdom and The Netherlands. The buyers are already active in Indonesia for many decades and have much experience in trading Indonesian goods.
