COVID-19 has impacted the global economy through disrupted supply chains, reduced international travel, plummeted commodity prices, and reduced cross-border flows of most tradeable goods. With support from ARISE+ Indonesia, Bappenas initiated a series of studies to obtain a deep understanding of the impact of COVID-19 across economic sectors and their value chains and to sharpen trade recovery and investment policies to enhance the effectiveness of support provided to businesses, especially MSMEs, which constitute 99% of the Indonesian enterprises.
The following four studies were conducted between March and September 2021:
- Impact of COVID-19 on Global Value Chains Relevant to Indonesian Exports
- Deep Dive into the Food, Beverage and Tobacco, Textile and Textile Products, Electronics, Automobile and Footwear Sectors GVCs of Indonesia
- Indonesian Enterprises Surveys on COVID-19 and GVCs Impacts
- Recommendations to Support Indonesia’s Path to Recovery
This webinar aims to disseminate the findings and recommendations of the study to key stakeholders and stimulate further discussions on the topic to gather other insights from policymakers and the business sector to support the coordination of economic policy responses.
